Somerville's Finance Committee voted 5-0 to recommend nine funding items, led by $350,000 for immigrant legal services and new Armory leases. Chair Ben Wheeler's panel also advanced $255,045 for Vision Zero street projects, $215,919.15 in Metropolitan Area Planning Council public health grant funds, and roughly $295,000 combined in state 911-dispatch grants. Property and Tenant Relations Manager Josh McCorkle told the committee a lease with nonprofit Arts at the Armory, covering four units, remains unsigned while the group's attorney reviews terms.

Councilor Scott said he was "a little bit concerned" about the missing lease but called the overall package "in order." DPW Director of Finance Megan Huckenpahler walked through $80,852.95 in prior-year invoices from vendors including Eversource and Honeywell. Police Finance Director Emily Wisdom said a $9,809.81 federal grant will cover body-armor vests at "no cost" to the city once matched by the state.
