Somerville board approves eight condo conversion permits, tables one
Other Committee · Meeting of February 23, 2026
Somerville's Condominium Review Board clears eight condo conversions and tables a ninth over an absent attorney. Chair Zasloff, Vice Chair Byrne and Board Member Simeon voted 3-0 on every item, including permits for 25 Fenwick Street, 58-60 Elmwood Street, 326 Low Street, 15 Stickney Avenue, 2 Cottage Circle, 6 McArthur Street, 9-15 Hillside Park and 207 Summer Street. The board also adopted its fiscal 2025 annual report, showing 59 applications covering 154 units and ordinance changes that doubled tenant-notice periods to two years and raised relocation payments to $14,000 and $18,000.
Byrne questioned an attorney over Hillside Park tenants who signed conversion waivers "two weeks" after moving in, calling it "a little dicey." A 57A Cherry Street application was tabled to March 30 after attorney Spang failed to appear.
