Somerville youth hockey celebrated two championship runs while the city's soccer community prepared a World Cup-themed week of events.

SOMERVILLE -- The Somerville Youth Hockey Association's Instructional Mites won a tournament championship and the PeeWee Blue squad captured the Valley Hockey League title, the SYHA website announced. Spring hockey clinics are ongoing for players seeking summer ice time, and Women's Learn to Play registration is open.

YOUTH LEAGUES

Somerville Youth Soccer has Fall 2026 registration open; late fees take effect Aug. 1. Timed to the World Cup, SYS has organized back-to-back family watch parties at Bow Market in Union Square on July 10 and July 15. The organization is also partnering with Santander and the City of Somerville for a New England Revolution Academy clinic on July 12, with Revolution Academy coaches providing instruction.

Somerville Recreation and the Somerville Office of Immigrant Affairs are co-hosting SomerCup 2026, a community soccer tournament, according to Somerville Patch.
