Somerville Redevelopment Authority advances 90 Washington Street RFP to final offer stage
Other Committee · Meeting of May 19, 2026
Somerville Redevelopment Authority advances 90 Washington Street redevelopment to best-and-final-offer stage with two competing proposals still in play. Chair Phil Ercolini convened the remote May 19 session, where Senior Planner Ben Demers reported that the City Council had met in a special session on May 11 to review submissions from Wood Partners and North River Lear Inc., voting to advance both into the finalist period. The council also authorized Demers and Councillor Ben Wheeler to share the contents of the council's own executive session with the SRA behind closed doors.
The board voted 6-0 to enter executive session, where members received that briefing and discussed strategy for the BAFO period, during which all reviewing bodies, including the SRA, the City Council, the 90 Washington Street Civic Advisory Committee, and real estate consultant HRNA, will deliver consolidated feedback to the two development teams before revised proposals are submitted.
