Somerville Planning Board clears minutes backlog, pushes 222 Broadway to May

Planning Board · Meeting of April 16, 2026

Somerville Planning Board approves three sets of minutes and continues 222 Broadway to May 21. Vice Chair Amelia Aboff chaired the April 16 session, with Clerk Jahan Habib, Lynn Richards, Michael McNeley, and Coralie Cooper present. The board voted 5-0 to continue the 222 Broadway hearing at the applicant's request and approved revised February 5 minutes correcting the recorded vote on 44 White Street across two prior meetings.

Aboff clarified for newer members that the board's role in joint hearings with the City Council's Land Use Committee is limited to brief participation, with substantive deliberation reserved for subsequent standalone Planning Board sessions; public comment on joint-hearing items is expected to close May 1, with the board taking up those matters at its May 7 meeting.
