Somerville's Traffic Commission voted 3-1 to drop Saturday hours from a loading zone outside three Holland Street businesses, over Chair Eric Wiseman's objection. Parking Division Director Renfret reported the three meters earned just $466.72 combined over seven months and drew only three tickets, which she called "low" usage. Councilor Saeed, Lena Webb and Lieutenant Holland backed the change; Wiseman dissented.
The commission also approved a new accessible parking space at 35 Century Street, a fire lane on Eustis Street requested by Chief Duane, and two mobility-division changes sought by the Somerville Council on Aging: widening accessible striping on Winslow Avenue to fit three vehicles and reopening the council's Tufts building parking lot to visitors and vendors without permits, 3-0.
